I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Registered Dietitian.
I specialize in working in the field of eating disorders. I am very passionate about challenging the norms of what we "should" look like and how we "should" feel. I hope to create a space for us be together in all the complexity, and move towards self-compassion and deeper understanding.
I am a white cisgender queer woman. I continuously work to challenge myself and to understand how my unearned privilege, including being white and able-bodied, impacts how I see the world. My aim is to continue to grow as a person and to hold a sense of humility in my work.
My work is inspired by Health at Every Size, and by a commitment to anti-racism, equity, and justice. We live in a fat phobic, trans phobic, ableist, white supremacist culture that demonizes certain bodies and praises others, and I am dedicated to challenging this.
I have studied and been trained in relational psychodynamic psychotherapy and somatic therapy. I also bring in Buddhist and mindfulness principles, CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing and practice from a trauma informed lens.
Before my private practice I spent many years working in eating disorder programs with adolescents and adults, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient.
